Su-30MKM ejection seat accidentally ejected caused no lost

Kuala Lumpur, KLS: Malaysian Defence Minister Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the problem of a Su-30MKM’s ejection seat accidentally ejected has been solved as the Su-30MKM is still under warranty period.

Recently, Chief of Malaysian Air Force General Rodzali bin Daud confirmed a report that a Su-30MKM’s K-36 series ejection seat was accidentally ejected on the ground two years ago.

“Yes, the incident happened on 8 September 2008,”Chief of Malaysian Air Force General Rodzali bin Daud told KLS. It is understood that the incident has caused damages to the aircraft’s cockpit and certain amount of financial lost.

Rodzali said the RMAF had carried out the Board of Inquiry (BOI) and several steps had been taken to get Rosoboronexport to compensate for damages incurred by the RMAF.

Asked whether anyone get hurt or caused lost, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said no body get hurt in this incident, and caused no lost as the aircraft is still under warranty period.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the RMAF hasn’t received all 18 Su-30MKMs as three of them are still in Russia though the production work was already completed.

He said due to this reason the warranty for the Su-30MKMs have been extended as the purchaser can apply to extend the warranty period in the event of the complete 18 aircrafts are not being delivered.
